BRIEF SUMMARY

Writing a diary is a way of self-reflecting and also as a way to “bring the mind home”. Nowadays you can find various ways of diary writing, like happiness diaries or gratefulness diaries. Here the use of a diary is based on the reflection model developed by Johns. Johns views self-reflection and diary writing as creating the possibility for a change of habit and routine, and even more. He describes writing as an opportunity to “pause, muse, to clear and let go of the mind […] to create a space where you can get back into the experience with all your senses”
